Dear DGM Friends and Families,
SEED SPOT is an organization whose mission is to educate, train, and support the next generation of problem solvers. Over the last couple years DGM has partnered with Seed Spot to create a curriculum that integrates entrepreneurship, STEM, and design-thinking to equip students with the 21st century skills necessary to create market-based solutions to social problems.
For the past year, 20 schools in four states have taught this engaging curriculum in their classrooms and students have been hard at work building their own impact-driven businesses. Now it’s time to celebrate their hard work!
This year we are very excited to showcase 6 different social ventures created by our MHYS student teams: Live Well, Trak, Loveable Lunches, Seed Pop and Soteria. Each venture is unique and eye-opening with respect to the way we see and interact with the world.
Due to the incredible growth of the Seed Spot program the initial selection for teams moving on to the Nation competition has already taken place and we are happy to announce that 2 of our teams will be participating in the finals taking place on May 15th.
However, on May 3rd DGM will be hosting a Demo Day for our DGM friends and families at 4:30pm at a venue TBA. We would love for you to come and support our MYHS student teams as they present to a panel of DGM judges in a professional environment. We are using this opportunity to not only showcase all of our DGM teams’ wonderful inventions but also as a practice arena for our 2 finalist teams before they compete at nationals on May 15th!!! So please come and experience our MYHS student team elevator pitches!
If you are interested in attending the National Seed Spot Competition on Tuesday, May 15th at the Herberger Theater be sure to reserve your tickets now as seating is limited and going fast!
