Dear Infant Parents,
My name is Ms. Kinnari Pandya and my staff and I are pleased to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year at Desert Garden Montessori. There is an increase in families seeking infant care every year and we are delighted to provide care for your child. I truly appreciate you trusting our Infant staff with your child and we humbly accept the responsibility. Independence is one of the primary goals of Montessori teaching and the Infant staff is committed to bringing out the independence that is within your child. We are also dedicated to providing the most ideal environment for the infants to promote optimum growth and development.
To ensure the best development of your child, I have incorporated years of experience and training into the Infant Nido environment. I have been working at Desert Garden since 2004. I finished my 0-3 years training with North American Montessori Center in 2008, and I received additional certification from the Center of Montessori Training-NY from a renowned Montessori expert, Virginia Varga, in 2011. Each of these trainings has been instrumental in creating the best environment for your child.
Throughout my life, I have always been fond of Montessori teaching. In fact, I spent four years of my childhood in a Montessori school in India, and I also worked voluntarily in a Montessori school later on. After moving to the US, I was fortunate to work in a Montessori setting once again and I have been leading the infant program since 2007. I am really excited to run the Infant Nido program this year, as we will be celebrating holidays from all over the world. Infants will also be provided with new materials to work with that build an early foundation for the development of various skills.
It takes many people to effectively run the Infant program and I am delighted to have a dedicated staff that really loves children. Ms. Anna will continue to work as an assistant for this coming year. She has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Grand Canyon University.
We also have Ms. Nattiauna working in the classroom. She has grown up in a Montessori environment and understands the great impact these beginning years can have on human development. She has been working in the Montessori community since 2009 and has been learning the Montessori way her whole life.
Parent Orientation is provided for you in video format this year. Please take a few moments to view this video in full to become familiar with the rhythm and expectations of your child’s classroom.
We are continuing to use our Montessori Compass software system for photos, activity reports, and progress reports. We will be using regular email for all other parent-teacher communication. You can email me at email@example.com. In order for us to serve your child during the school day, please allow for a 24-hour turnaround time from teachers. In case of an emergency, please contact the front office.
As parents in the Infant Classroom and a family in the Desert Garden Community, we encourage you to become involved. Deepti Iyengar is our Infant Classroom home room parent and can serve as a valuable resource for any questions you may have. Ms. Deepti can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
